Each state holds it's own Day of the Volkswagen (DOVW) regularly across Australia. The Day of the Volkswagen is the biggest show of the year in our clubs calendar. We plan to make it bigger and better every year with your help. Whether you just come along to look around or you bring along your own V-Dub to show it off, it is such an enjoyable day. So come help make the WA DOVW a success.
DAY OF THE VOLKSWAGEN 2020
The next show will be held on Sunday 6th December 2020 at Wilson Park, South Fremantle. We thank Shannons Insurance for their continued support and sponsorship of this event for over 10 years now.
The Day of the Volkswagen is open to both members and the public to show their VW's or to come along and have a look. Its not only about show and fully restored quality, we want you to bring your ride along no matter what the condition. Last year we had over 200 vehicles on display.
Gates will be open from 8:00am to 10:00am for entry with the show running from 10:00am to approx. 2.00pm on the day. There is strictly no vehicle movement during this time. Trophy presentations commence at 1:00pm At the conclusion of the presentations and announcements the gates will re-open for exiting. The gates are locked for the safety of all patrons at the show.
Vehicle entry is $20 for non-members and $10 for members, while the public can have a look for free. We are super proud to announce that the profits from this year’s Show will be going towards buying our club member, Logan Bayley, a new wheelchair. You may have seen Logan at the show before. He and his family are great supporters. Logan has Duchenne, a muscle wasting condition that has robbed him of the use of his legs. He lost the ability to walk at just 14. There are things that we all take for granted in our everyday life that pose a great challenge for Logan and his family. The Leitner Electric Light-weight Folding Wheelchair will make getting around a lot easier.
All displayed vehicles are in the running for a trophy/prize and a show bag will be handed out to the first 150 people to hand in their completed voting forms. We encourage you to bring and sell (or pass on) those unwanted parts. The day will include kids activities, a cooking competition and of course refreshment vendors. Our new Club merchandise will be on sale in the club tent.
