I nearly forgot, wiring looms .........
These sound expensive, but these guys have free freight for over $250aust, and this only works out to materials plus 4hrs labour to make it, it takes MUCH longer than that.

One option, but check what your Beetle is first, our Oz-built '60s one are unique.
Hope this helps.

Those rods were AA with chev journal, for the next engine (if I can be bothered!).

This engine is all stock parts apart from the straight cuts, camshaft, intake valves, and the springs/retainers.
I still think all stock except for 1.4 rockers and killer heads will just walk all over any other combo for average power under 5500 (given the same engine size of course), this cam is a bit of an experiment.

I got 73 superbug loom and I have a colour wiring diagram that has been laminated which came from USA, but that didn't matter if left or right hand drive.

OK, I'm still at it. Rego can wait till later (maybe this years DoVW 80th Anniversary?), the aim is to make the burnout box at the VW Drags at the Motorplex on Apr 18th and run the new engine in! :woohoo: Hahahaha!
Due to this full-flow thing I need to mount an oil filter somewhere I guess, temporary though coz I'm still fiddling with fittings and fitment.
I can't find a rear breastplate that fits nicely for the street just yet, so for now.......
