Sue & Steve Collis of Solarfruit supported us during the 2011 Bug-In South West Road Trip.
Solarfruit is a family business that has been started from the ground up and has been operating just out of Donnybrook since 1994. Using the local fruit, they have literally invented some of the processes and equipment, but let nature dry it in the sun to produce fruit bars and other healthy convenient snacks that are great for kids lunch boxes, or to nibble on when you're on the road.
To quote them - "Our fruit bars are made from real, fresh fruit and are nut free, dairy free, gluten free, 99% fat free, and have no added colours or flavours." The products contain the whole fruit, except seeds, which makes them almost 100% natural.
So, when you are heading through Donnybrook, take a detour to 150 Wade Road. They are open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm. Closed on weekends and public holidays. They attend weekend markets and many open days and shows like Garden Week in Perth. They are also at the Kalamunda Markets on the 1st Saturday of each month 8am -3pm. Or you can buy online.
Check the website... you and your kids will love it !!
The VW Club has used this venue for club runs over several years and have been more than pleased with the organisation and the customer service in addition to their great food and beer. Dont forget to book on weekends. A little bit of information from their website...
We are located on a scenic 60 acre rural property. On entering you will drive up through our 1000 tree olive grove to reach our building which is located on the top of a hill overlooking a lush recreation lawn. Since opening in March 2007, many thousands of people have enjoyed our hospitality. We hope and are sure you will too!
You can choose to sit outside in our undercover outdoor beer garden overlooking the kids playground, the massive grassed are where you can throw a ball, have a game of backyard cricket, or just watch the kids run around chasing each other. But if that proves too exhausting for you why not come on inside to air conditioned comfort and grab a table or even sit in one of the booths and watch the whole process of beer making take place right in front of your eyes.
