Someone posted an old library picture on FB of a Skippers & Bailey dealership, selling Sunbeam, Hillman, & Humber cars.
In the picture you can see an estate version on the left, a 4 door saloon on the right and the Californian in the centre. Can't help but think its my car, the colours are right (even tho its a black and white photo!)
Skippers dealership went on to become John Hughes, He still uses the Skippers name on his transport organisation.

getting it rolling is the first goal, the rear wheels are seized, I've tried to move the motor not sure if the water pump is seized or the motors locked up.
Just for now I've given the old girl a coat of oil the protect the metal and slow down the rusting process.
Time will tell!

Well done Jon.

That car will have the Hillman engine that went with twin carbies into the Sunbeam Alpine and into most other Rootes Group cars.

It's about 1500 cc.

With some extra capacity (1725 cc) and a lean to the right it went into the Hillman Hunter.

They are good reliable, tough little cars.

That's a good little runabout. Well done.

Richard.
